ACTIVITIES: TTFN Gymnastics
As you may know, TTFN means “ta ta for now.” I’m very sad because I’m having to give up gymnastics while I’m pregnant. They say that you can’t do something that’s so high impact like that. So I’m really bummed about that. Don’t get me wrong, I’d gladly give it up for the safety of my child, but it also made me feel really good getting out and exercising like that. I just hope I can get back into it quickly enough after the baby is born.
ACTIVITIES: Gymnastics, Women’s All-Around [spoiler]
I am SO excited about the women’s all-around gymnastics! Ky and I watched it live last night, and, you can ask him, I was literally screaming when Nastia stuck all of her floor tumblings practically perfectly. And when they declared her the winner of the all-around, I was jumping up and down! They said, what, only two or three other American women have ever won the all-around before? Mary Lou Retton, Carly Patterson, maybe one other girl, and now Nasita Liukin!
On a personal gymnastics note, I went to gymnastics yesterday morning, and I had more fun and probably improved more yesterday than I had for the last two months. It helped that I was there for three and a half hours, but the guy that was the fill-in instructor was awesome! Usually, I only go on Saturdays, but I think I’m going to at least go on Thursday if not Thursday and Saturday. On Saturday, the normal instructor got a different job, so she couldn’t teach on Saturdays anymore. That bummed me out. Then they sent in this other girl whom I had seen before but she had never taught. So I thought it might be okay.
Well, unfortunately, she didn’t really instruct all that much. She just had us do some warm-ups and then sent us off to do our own stuff and didn’t really instruct or give pointers that much. That’s fine, but I’d rather someone who is really into it and wants to teach. She didn’t seem too thrilled about it.
And the normal guy, during the weekday, is really cool. He instructs very well. I will still go on some of the Saturdays, but I prefer to go during the week now. Plus, the weekday classes are an hour and a half whereas the weekend class is an hour long.
Anyway, I have started working out more now, and I so far have lost about five pounds in the last week. Help me to keep it going!
ACTIVITIES: Puzzle Finished!
I know it sounds really stupid and boring, but this is the first puzzle I’ve ever really done on my own! And I actually finished it by myself! Well, Ky put in a few pieces. But for the most part, I did it.
I would give this puzzle a seven on a scale of hardness, and only because of that stupid canvas on the wagon. That took forever! I think I started this puzzle about a month ago, and I just finished it today. Hooray!
I told you my life was boring….
ENTERTAINMENT: The Sims
To begin with, I don’t usually just sit down and play computer games for hours and hours at a time. I used to, but I rarely do anymore. But for the past few days, I’ve been really into the Sims 2 again. I’m not sure why. I go on these Sims binges where I just can’t seem to get enough. Then I get kind of tired of it and don’t play it for months. I’m sure that won’t change.
What I usually do with my characters is play me and Ky. I very rarely play anybody else. I usually play as Ky for a while, level him up a little bit, then create me and play as me. Then I put them together, two struggling people with no money, and have them get married. Then they have babies right away. This is usually what causes my downfall.
But this time, I maximized both me and Ky before I got them married so that we’d each have a bundle of money to bring together when we got married. And it worked! We each had about 200,000 Simoleans when we got married, which gave us a net total of 400,000. Yay for math. And, I know it’s really sad, but we got pregnant almost right away and had twin girls! I’m so happy! LOL
Anyway, to make a long story short (too late), I like the Sims. And what’s even better is that they’re coming out with the Sims 3 in 2009. I can’t wait! It sounds like you can customize your Sim a lot more, and you can actually walk around in their neighborhood and visit neighbors’ houses and stuff. It sounds neat. It’s on my birthday list next year, if anybody is interested!
ACTIVITIES: No Gymnastics Today
Okay I’m really kind of happy and kind of sad about today. Mostly happy because of the way things turned out. Ky came home and woke me up around 9am today. He said that he was sorry that we couldn’t afford gymnastics. It’s always on Saturday at 8am. It was already 9am. I was really bummed. I had forgotten to go. In all fairness, I don’t know if I would have anyway because I went to bed so late. I had to work.
But I texted Kris later and asked her if she went or not because she’s been going with me for a few weeks, and she said that they didn’t have any today because of the holiday! Yay! I was really quite happy about that. Not only did they not have it, but this was the first week I didn’t even make an attempt to go. Since I started the class, I haven’t missed a single week until now. But I’m glad that it was closed.
ACTIVITIES: Accordion, Week Two, Thursday
Forgot about band tonight. Ky has the truck and his car is not here. Bummer. I am actually pretty sad because I had fun last week and contest is getting close. Hopefully I’ll remember to go on Tuesday!
ACTIVITIES: WWR – Feeding is Hard!
Okay, today at the ranch was much more difficult than last week. Dang. I mucked stalls. No big deal. I got the horses ready for riding. No big deal. I actually went on a trail ride as a guide, so not only did I ride for free, I got a $20 tip out of it. Definitely a bonus! But when it came time to feed the horses, that’s quite a workout. First, I had to climb up onto a flatbed full of hay that was about thirty feet tall and throw about fifteen bales down to the trailer. Then, I had to cut the wires, wrap them up so they didn’t fall into the horse pens, and toss the hay leaves out to the horses. All of this being done while Gary or Tanya drove the tractor. That was tough. And I got so much hay down my pants, it’s not even funny.
If Tanya doesn’t give me a free lesson after today but did after last week, then I’m going to be very confused. I worked at least twice as hard as I did last week.
Either way, it’s worth it, being around these horses.
ACTIVITIES: Accordion, Week One, Thursday
So before tonight, I hadn’t picked up an accordion since probably October or November of 2007. It was pretty cool. I don’t think I’m interested in it enough to do more than just band right now, but it’s fun to do that. I’m glad Kris talked me into going tonight. It was pretty fun.
But I have to get my butt in gear because contest is coming really soon. Beginning of August, I believe. First or second weekend. I hope we can do it!
ACTIVITIES: WWR
Went to the Wild West Ranch to volunteer today. It was actually not as difficult as I thought it would be. I mean, I’m used to sitting around on the computer all day or doing a puzzle or watching TV or something lazy and indoors as that. It was good to get out in that sun for a change.
I didn’t really do that much, but Tanya said I did enough to get a free lesson! I’m excited about that, for sure. I basically just helped get some horses ready to be ridden, mucked a few stalls, and filled the water tanks. Seriously, that’s all. But I was there all day, pretty much. It was cool. I’m excited to come back.
