PLUG: Sugar Ink Design

I am really, really excited about this. For the longest time, my sister has been interested in graphic design. She went to school for it, and now she’s putting it to good use. My sister, Kris Morgan, and her partner in crime, Teri Alverson, have successfully started their own design business. Sugar Ink Design is born! Saturday, June 28th was the grand opening party of Sugar Ink Design, one of the best, edgiest design companies around.

Kris and Teri are a pair of graphic designers who share a love for typography, photography, and all things sweet. Each earned their BFA in communication design at Metropolitan State College of Denver. Their paths crossed during their first semester when they found themselves attending all the same classes. They always patterned up, sharing ideas, notes, homework, fears, and tears. Career goals after college didn’t exactly pan out the way they had hoped, and after working for a few companies, they decided that this just wasn’t taking them to the creative level they were hoping for. So the idea of starting a freelance business began.

During Teri’s pregnancy, she developed gestational diabetes, which meant NO SUGAR! As a pregnant woman, this was absolutely devastating news because that’s all she wanted to eat. When faced with the challenge of finding a company name, all she could think about was sugar, sugar, sugar! The ensatiable cravings eventually led to the name of the company. It was perfect for the girls’ personalities and design style. Each of them are very unique in their loves and hates but manage to collaborate ideas quite nicely.

If you’ve got a big event coming up, a wedding, baby shower, graduation, or anything that requires invitations, visit their website. Need to advertise with a poster? Go to Sugar Ink.
