MARRIAGE: One Year!!

May 26, 2008 at 2:54 pm (MARRIAGE) (, , , )

Hooray! I am so happy! Not that it was a big surprise, but Ky and I made it through our first year together! And oddly enough, we’re both still alive! I’m so happy to be with him. I don’t like that he has to work tonight, but he has tomorrow off until the 1st of June, so I’m happy about that. He’s sleeping right now, but I think we might go to dinner together before he goes to work. I don’t know. I guess we’ll see.

And we’ve learned a lot from each other, but I don’t think that the first year is going to be much different than any of our other years together, except for maybe a little bit of the newness will wear off and, hopefully, kids will be added to the picture eventually. But other than that, our relationship has really been very much the same since the very beginning. I’m really proud and thankful for that.

ENTERTAINMENT: The Chronicles of Naria: Prince Caspian

May 20, 2008 at 1:21 pm (ENTERTAINMENT, movies) (, , , , )

Ky and I saw Prince Caspian yesterday. It is AWESOME! I love these movies. I’m so excited to see the third one when it comes out. And actually, I wouldn’t mind seeing the second one again. Or the first one, for that matter.

I don’t know what it is about these movies. I think the fact that they’re fighting as part of Jesus’ (Aslan’s) army just makes me want to get up and fight for him too. And the fact that it is depicted as an actual battle is awesome. I just love the whole concept of the film.

And I want to wear Susan’s dress. It’s purty. :D

HEALTH: Hypothyroid

May 12, 2008 at 1:29 pm (HEALTH) (, , )

I’m actually really happy and relieved right now. I just got a call from the doctor. I had a blood test done on the 7th of this month. I thought I might have PCOS (Polysystic Ovarian Syndrome) because my sister has it, and since it’s one of the leading causes, if not THE leading cause, of infertility, I wanted to be sure that I didn’t have it. The doctor said that I didn’t appear to have it but she’d test me for it anyway.

So I got my blood drawn for the first time in my life (weird, I know, I’m 22). And that actually didn’t scare me nearly as badly as I thought it would. The guy was really nice and funny. I looked really nervous when I went in there. He, of course, noticed, and I told him that it was the first time I’d ever gotten my blood drawn before. He was definitely surprised. But he said something like, “Well it’s my first time drawing blood. So we’re about equal.” I laughed. It helped. Then he said, “Didn’t think they’d let the janitor do this, did you?” I laughed harder. He pulled out the needle. I stopped breathing.

And then it was done. No not really. It actually took quite a while (a while being like two minutes) because he had to take, like, seven vials of my blood. I didn’t look at my arm at all while he was doing it except for the occasional glance to make sure my blood was actually red. But it went quickly enough.

Anyway, back to today. The doctor called and told me that I don’t have PCOS. That was really, really good. I was happy to hear that, for sure. But she did say that I had Hypothyroidism. Big surprise there. My mom, dad, and sister all have it. But I’ll take that over PCOS anyday. I just have to take a tiny little pill everyday for the rest of my life. I can deal with that for sure.
